Holcim Lebanon released its fourth Sustainable Development Report that outlines the company’s economic, environmental and social performance and addresses priority issues for Holcim Lebanon.
The report provides a summary of Holcim Lebanon’s sustainability approach for the period extending from 2012 to 2014 and presents performance indicators against key objectives and legal requirements. It addresses achievements in the areas of emissions, energy and biodiversity.
Safety remains top priority at Holcim with the goal of zero harm to people. The company focuses on reinforcing the safety culture among employees and third parties and strengthening the safety performance through the management system and the diverse safety programs. As such, Holcim Lebanon recorded a Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.7 in 2012, dropping to zero in 2013 and 2014.
In his message, ad interim CEO Jamil Bouharoun highlights the company’s aspiration to respond to the pressing needs of the society and to be part of the solution to rising societal and environmental concerns. This includes activities addressing anti-bribery and corruption, human rights and the role of co-processing alternative fuels as a viable solution to Lebanon’s waste management problem.
