French ambassador, HE Madame Anne Grillo, visits Holcim Lebanon

Holcim Lebanon receives Ambassador of France, HE Madame Anne Grillo to visit the facility and to discuss the current situation of the industry with Holcim management. 

 

French Ambassador to Lebanon, HE Madame Anne Grillo visited Holcim on Monday May 17, accompanied by a delegation from the Embassy.

 

During the visit, Madame Grillo met with CEO Jimmy Bouharoun and his team to discuss the multitude of challenges facing the industry amid the compounding political, economic, social and financial crises in Lebanon. The delegation went on a guided tour of the plant and the main amenities including the control room and the laboratory to get an overview of the cement process and the state-of-the-art equipment.

 

The delegation proceeded to the quarries in Chekka and Kfarhazir. The visit was concluded with an explanation of the ecological restoration project implemented by Holcim in an exhausted quarry in Chekka. 

 

Madame Grillo marked her visit to Holcim by planting an olive tree in the restored quarry. She thanked the Holcim team and expressed her interest in the rehabilitated site particularly areas showcasing recovered ecosystems.
